Trae Young is one of the most promising players in the league, recently playing in the all-star game as a starter, and as a result, he is a hot commodity for Adidas right now. Adidas therefor chose him, near the end of last season, to start wearing their new model, the Adidas N3XT L3V3L, which grabbed a lot of attention on the court. Clearly the shoe went down a success, because the sequel shoe, the Adidas N3XT L3V3L 2 is set to release soon.
We first saw the sneaker on the feet of Trae Young, as he rocked two “Ice Trae,” colorways of the shoe at this years NBA 3-point contest. It looks to be very similar to the original Adidas N3XT L3V3L with the same high-cut laceless design, however the plastic support panel on the side has been altered for a sleeker look. The other change of note, is the mid sole, as although it still looks to be made up of Adidas’ new light strike foam, it is now broken up into three separate parts with curved edges, unlike the previous model that had received complaints for being too clunky.
The original Adidas N3XT L3V3L received very positive feedback about every part of the shoes performance other than the traction, so for its sequel, Adidas look to be mainly going by the saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” As well as its performance, the shoe also looks very easy to wear off the court, fitting the ath-leisure look almost perfectly, so keep a look out as Adidas rolls the model out later this year.
